OTTAWA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 14 AGRI-BUSINESS Activities: • 4-H Watermelon Feed at the Franklin County Fair • Further support the 4-H Livestock Sale • Sponsor of Day on the Farm • Assist Power of the Past antique tractor event • Support outside functions of other groups such as KSU, FFA & Farm Bureau • Supports other Chamber events AMBASSADORS Activities: • Sponsor Chamber Coffees to familiarize the community with local businesses • New Business Ribbon Cuttings • Represent the Chamber at community events • Produces the Chamber Annual Banquet EVENTS & PROMOTIONS Activities: • Generate a stronger retail base • Sponsors: Ladies Night Out, Mayor’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony and the Flea, Junk & Trunk vendor event LEGISLATIVE ACTION Activities: • Sponsors legislative and local government coffees to inform local citizens • Sponsors candidates forums and meet the candidates in elections cycle years • Sponsors annual Eggs & Issues annually bringing a State renowned speaker to Ottawa EDUCATION & HEALTH Activities: • Honors Banquet and program for high school and middle school students • Welcome luncheon for new educators & health care professionals LEADERSHIP FRANKLIN COUNTY (LFC) Activities: • Provide a high-quality leadership program to current and potential community leaders • Create a local network of professional and community advocates • Sponsors a local legislative day to Topeka to see and learn about State government FIRST FRIDAY FORUM Activities: • The Chamber partners with the City of Ottawa, Neosho County Community College, Ottawa Herald and the Franklin Co. Health department to coordinate a monthly program every first Friday keeping citizens abreast of community activities • Identify relevant and timely speakers once a month for presentations OTTAWA AREA YOUNG PROFESSIONALS Activities: • Ottawa Area Young Professionals (OAYP) is a non-profit group organized through the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce.
