Northern Virginia Building Industry Association 2021 Industry Impact Report

Councils/Committees In June, 50+ members joined WBI’s amazing networking event at Paradise Springs Winery, where they enjoyed delicious food, fine wine, an engaged group of leaders in the industry, and wonderful weather—who could ask for anything more?! In September,WBI hosted “Morning Conversation – The Entitlement Process with Priya Tiwari and Tiffany Caceres,” who guided two dozen online attendees through the residential development process, with a great Q&A session at the end. Thanks to everyone who attended and shared their experiences in the development industry! In November, the group gathered for an in-person breakfast event at First Excel Title, headlined by a “ ‘Shape” Your Leadership Future” seminar with Debbie Boyce. Ms. Boyce has over 20 years’ experience developing business leaders, sales teams, and individual contributors at varying organizational levels across multiple industries. An enthusiastic Global Training Professional, she delivered a dynamic experience that included a communication assessment known as “SHAPES,” which helped attendees understand their personal traits. Other events during the year included a strong WBI presence at Community Farms at Round About Meadows, Women Giving Back Volunteer Day, and For Children’s Sake Fall Festival. The group wrapped up the year giving thanks for another great year of collegiality and giving back and announced the 2022 leadership. Want to get involved or have questions about WBI?
