2021–2022 Membership Directory 5 About the Association Education This committee encompasses all education programs offered by EPAA. National designations, National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS), and Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) fall under this umbrella. Government Affairs The Government Affairs Committee is the primary advocacy wing of the Association. The GAC sets the Association’s legislative priorities and monitors legislation at the city, county, state and federal levels. The GAC meets regularly with elected officials and conducts advocacy trips to Washington, D.C. and Austin. GAC members testify at El Paso City Council, El Paso County Commissioners Court and at Texas State Legislature committee hearings. Programs The Programs committee plans special events for the Association as part of our mission to provide professional networking events. They coordinate with staff members to plan most of the association’s annual functions and participates with The Under One Roof Golf Tournament, The EPAA Gala, Western Party, and our Annual Christmas Fair. Awards The Awards Committee develops criteria for awards and supervises the nomination process. Recognition by your industry peers as the best in your category is an accomplishment that highlights your dedication to professionalism. COMMITTEES A fund of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, Under One Roof is a charitable organization of the El Paso Apartment Association established to provide financial and other support to residents of El Paso County who have been harmed by disasters such as fire, flood or pandemic. Recently, the City of El Paso selected a collaborative proposal from the PDN Community Foundation and Under One Roof to administer funding for rental assistance to serve thousands of El Pasoans who are facing the prospect of losing their homes due to the health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
