2019-2020 Calistoga Visitor Guide

18 TEXT CALISTOGA’S EXCEPTIONAL SHOPS WILL ENTICE YOU to take a stroll and explore the walkable and charming downtown area with its shops brimming over with unique treasures of all kinds. A year-round farmers market is worth a visit on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. While you won’t find a department store chain in sight, you will find stylish clothing, comfortable and fashion-forward footwear, exquisite jewelry and more accessories, a large selection of books and magazines, handcrafted artisan creations, folk art pottery, renowned art galleries, and antiques and collectibles. Take a coffee break or teatime at one of several coffee shops, or stop in the Train Depot to taste some handcrafted chocolates and confections. Shop for a bottle or two of Calistoga’s finest wines at one of its charming, exclusive wine shops, or sip wines at one of the many tasting rooms before you make a purchasing decision. Once you find a few favorites, you can ship your favorite wines home for later enjoyment to share with friends. As you shop around town, you will certainly notice the myriad pieces of furniture created from wine barrels inside businesses and outside on the sidewalks. And you’ll love the views of murals on the sides of buildings that offer a glimpse into Calistoga’s history. These murals were painted by artist and local treasure Carlo Marchiori and may also be found inside Enoteca Wine Shop, Ca’Toga Galleria D’Arte and outside Vermeil Wines tasting room.
