32 Forward Magazine Q Fall 2018 Airforwarders Association Advertorial Reach the World With Air Canada Cargo With peak volumes around the corner, forwarders need options to keep their customers’ goods flowing through the supply chain. The speed of air cargo is increasingly attractive to forwarders as demand ramps up and the squeeze is on capacity as we head to the busy holiday period. From the U.S., Air Canada Cargo ships freight to 289 cities throughout the world. In fact, 30% of the tonnage handled by Air Canada Cargo originates in or is destined to the U.S. This traffic flows through our hubs in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal on flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Newark, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Miami, all served with widebody aircraft ranging from Boeing 767, 777 and 789. These flights are true cargo gateways to the some of the world’s busiest cargo markets. To facilitate access to these flights, our expansive U.S. trucking network serves cities throughout the U.S., for total coverage of 95 American cities. Network Highlights From Newark, daily flights to Vancouver provide quick access to cities across Asia (Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul), India (Delhi), Australia (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne). Our latest U.S. addition, a widebody flight between Miami and Toronto, quickly connects shipments to hundreds of international destinations. In fact, in 2019, Air Canada Cargo will connect to the most points between North America and Europe with direct, widebody service to 31 destinations in Europe. Points beyond cities served directly are easily reached by trucking or interline connections. Looking Ahead to 2019 Our international network continues to grow. For shipping to Europe, extended service to Rome, Milan, Barcelona and Madrid continues through until 2019. In April, Air Canada will inaugurate daily flights between Toronto and Vienna operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. From Vancouver, flights to Delhi will increase to daily year-round as of June, while service to Melbourne, Zurich and Osaka will benefit from additional flights during summer peak.
